3. Rats
The Gossips describe the townspeople's horror at the arrival of the Rats, and the Rats themselves sing of their intention to party all night long and generally behave badly.

4. Ride With Me
Two Rats - "John" and "Olivia" - sing a rather boisterous love-song.

5. The Gossips
The Gossips describe some of the misdeeds of the Rats. You might suspect, however, that they are secretly rather enjoying the scandal.

6. The Council Meeting
The Council bemoan their inability to control the Rats, and the Mayor introduces the Rat-Catcher, who sings of the appalling devices he uses for pest control.

11. The Gossips' Revenge
The Rats have been driven away by the Rat-Catcher, and the Gossips find life without them rather dull.

16. They Fell For It!
After the Rat-Catcher has led the children away to hold them to ransom, the Mayor triumphantly of his brilliant scheme. But there's something he has forgotten.

17. Turn Away from Crime
Appalled by the depths to which he has sunk, the Mayor sings of his intention to reform his ways.

18. Finale (extract)
The final chorus, in which everyone signs of their intention to party all night long and generally behave badly...
